Services
McDowell Home Health Agency can provide a healthcare related service or a combination of services in your home under the direction of your physician. Working with your physician, our qualified staff will plan, coordinate, and provide care specifically tailored to your needs. Our services include:
Skilled Nursing Care, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Home Health Aide, Infusion Therapy, and Home and Community Based Waiver Program. In addition to these basic services, McDowell Home Health can coordinate other services which might prove beneficial to a speedy recovery for you or your loved ones!
- Skilled Nursing is provided by RNs with training and experience in providing care in the home. The nurse communicates frequently with your physician to update your plan of care. Services may include evaluation of patient needs, performance of skilled nursing procedures, education of patient, family members, and caregivers on disease processes, self-care techniques and prevention strategies. Nurses will also supervise coordination of patient care and services with your physician and other health care team members.
- Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy services are provided by a licensed therapist, or licensed therapy assistant under the direction of the therapist. Your therapist will provide specific information about the services and treatments you will receive.
- Home Health Aide services are delivered under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed therapist. Our aides have experience and training in providing care in the home. An aide is assigned when there is a specific need for personal care on a part time basis at home. Any duties the home health aide performs will be coordinated between you and your caregivers and added to your plan of care. Typical duties include bathing, shampooing hair, changing bed linens, and assistance with other activities of daily living.
- Supplies/Therapy: Medical supplies and therapy services may be required to carry out your plan of care. All medically necessary therapy services or medical supplies must be coordinated with the home health agency while you are receiving Medicare covered home health services. If you arrange for these services or supplies on your own while under our plan of care, Medicare will not reimburse you or the other supplier.
- DME: Durable medical equipment (walker, wheelchair, hospital bed, etc.) is covered separately and may be supplied by the home health agency or an outside Medicare-certified supplier of your choice.
We are certified under various state and federal programs. Check with our office to verify whether or not we presently participate in any specific programs pertaining to your needs. Eligibility for many home healthcare programs is determined by state and/or federal agencies.
